My first show has a great one:

http://www.archive.org/details/gd80-11-29.wise.sacks.2409.sbeok.shnf

But the one I'm looking for has Jerry going totally crazy on the solo/jam before the "sure don't know..." part.
Any ideas?

not sure if this is what you're looking for. sometimes
you're just drifting...
This one will always stand the test of time for me:

No that is not the one...although that is one damn fine version.
The one Im talking about has the craziest, longest, most blazing Jerry solo in Saint, right before the "sure dont know" part.
Yeah U got it right, sometimes your just driftin...driftin and dreaming..

Dude it's killing me but I'm thinking of one with exactly the right specs and it's not coming to me.

In the meantime here is a stand alone saint but it's a fast paced one.

sorry my man it was this one I had on the brain. Since it's 1991 there would be no Lost sailor. Good luck in the search.

Try 8 6 82 St Paul. It has a pretty strong solo you might be looking for. What makes it even weirder though is that Weir steps up to the mic right before they start and asks someone to go the the first aid room for an emergency. What possible emergency could have happend to stop a dead show? Then they play sailor saint... Its always made me wonder....

My god, what a killer AUD. Sounds like a SBD with a clap and cheer track added. Only the West High Anchorage AK shows this year sound as good.

It has got to be this one? Barton Hall 1981
http://www.archive.org/details/gd1981-05-16.sbd.miller.30647.sbeok.flac16

This was a real hot one also – it took me two months to realize I could have been here too.
Utica 1981 http://www.archive.org/details/gd1981-03-13.wise.lutch.4167.sbeok.shnf

Honestly LS wasn’t a favorite tune of mine at the time, but the combo always ended up pretty upbeat. The jam I believe you are referring to was probably one of my favorite parts.

Might not be the longest but one of the best I've heard

http://www.archive.org/details/gd1985-04-04.senn421.mccue.ford.77029.sbeok.shnf

Edit - I just listened to this ol'fav of mine again now and I don't see how it could be any other. The jam up to the "Sure don't know" part is fierce like you mention.
